Terms of Service

Last updated: July 10, 2026

These Terms govern your use of SameDayWed. By creating an account or booking a ceremony, you agree to them.

What SameDayWed does

SameDayWed is a facilitation service. We help you schedule a same-day marriage ceremony, match you with a Utah-licensed officiant located in Utah, provide two witnesses, host your ceremony over live video, and coordinate the record-keeping. The marriage license and certificate are issued by Utah County, a government office — not by SameDayWed. You complete the county's own online marriage-license application.

Eligibility

Both applicants must be 18 or older, must not currently be married to anyone else, and must meet Utah's requirements to marry (including that neither has had a divorce finalized within the last 60 days unless a signed decree is provided). You confirm your eligibility when you apply.

The ceremony

Your officiant will be physically located in Utah, as the law requires. You and your witnesses may join by video from anywhere. Before your vows, your officiant will state the disclosure required by Utah law: a marriage solemnized under Utah law through online remote appearance may be invalid in the country where the parties reside.

Payment & refunds

Our service fee is charged at booking and is separate from the Utah County government license fee, which you pay directly to the county. If we are unable to provide your ceremony, we will refund your service fee. Government fees paid to Utah County are not refundable by us.

Not legal advice

SameDayWed does not provide legal advice. Recognition of a Utah online marriage may vary by country and circumstance, and you are responsible for confirming that a marriage performed this way meets your needs. Consult a qualified attorney for legal questions.

Your responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information, complete the Utah County application truthfully, present valid government photo identification during the ceremony, and use the service only for a lawful marriage between eligible applicants.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SameDayWed is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the actions of Utah County or other third parties. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the service fee you paid.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah.
